How do I check a drug interaction?

Type the names of two medications (or a medication and alcohol/pregnancy) in the search box on our homepage. For example: "ibuprofen and paracetamol" or "sertraline and alcohol". You can also browse by drug category or use the navigation menu.

Where does your data come from?

All drug interaction data is sourced from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) drug label database via the OpenFDA API. This is the same authoritative data used by WebMD and Drugs.com. We cite FDA on every page.

Can I search by brand name?

Yes. Type the brand name (e.g. Nurofen, Calpol, Zoloft, Prozac) and you will be redirected to the correct generic drug page. We map over 100 brand names to their generic equivalents.

Is this information reliable?

Our data comes from FDA-approved drug labels. This is the most authoritative publicly available drug interaction data. However, this site provides general educational information only. Individual responses to drug combinations vary โ€” always discuss your specific medication with a pharmacist or doctor.

What does "Generally Safe" mean?

It means that for most adults, taking these two things together is not expected to cause a clinically significant problem. It does not mean there are zero risks for everyone โ€” individual factors (kidney function, liver function, age, other medications) always matter.

What should I do in an emergency?

Call 999 immediately (UK) or 911 (US). Do not use this website in an emergency. For non-urgent medical advice in the UK, call 111.

Why are some pages missing?

We are building this database incrementally. Phase 1 covers the most commonly searched drug combinations. We add new pages regularly. If you cannot find a combination, check back soon or contact us.

Can I suggest a drug combination to add?

Yes โ€” please use our contact page.
